Prof. Parikshit Sahatiya

Associate Professor

Prof. Parikshit Sahatiya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus. He is currently the associate head for Center for Research Excellence in Semiconductor Technology (CREST), Co-founder and Director of Sparshacare Innovations Pvt Ltd, and an Advisor and Mentor for Anjamma Healthcare Pvt Ltd. Dr. Sahatiya has held visiting positions at Tufts University, USA, and Purdue University. His research focuses on nanomaterials, flexible electronics, and sensor systems. Prof.Nilesh Goel

Associate Professor

Prof. Nilesh Goel is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani. He holds a joint position at the Hyderabad and Dubai campuses. He specializes in semiconductor reliability, neuromorphic circuits, and reliability-aware circuit/system design.
Prof. Goel has over 8 years of teaching experience, focusing on undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in electrical and electronics engineering. He holds a PhD from IIT Bombay with research in device reliability, especially NBTI modeling and life-time prediction. Currently, he serves as the Associate Head at CREST, and Deputy Head of EEE Department.

Dr. Chandra Sekhar

Dr. Chandra Sekhar is an NPDF Fellow at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, where he mentors and inspires young entrepreneurial minds through vibrant discussions on emerging electronics trends. He is the Founder & CEO of Sparshacare Innovations Pvt Ltd, driving innovation from lab to market. Beyond his research endeavors, he finds joy in cooking and exploring books. Gowtham Polumati

Research Scholar

Gowtham is a Ph.D. scholar at BITS Pilani, working on vertically stacked CVD-grown 2D material-based optoelectronic devices. He completed his Master’s in Embedded Systems and VLSI Design from JNTU Hyderabad in 2018. He worked as a PCB designer at ECIL for two years and served as an Assistant Professor for four years before joining BITS. His research focuses on CVD-grown 2D heterostructure photodetectors, exploring stacking configurations and doping to enhance responsivity. Outside research, he enjoys sports, movies, long drives, and travel.

Bishal Keshari

Research Scholar

Bishal joined NSDL as a PhD scholar in 2023. His research focuses on engineering advanced memristive materials and device architectures, developing CMOS-compatible fabrication processes, and exploring switching mechanisms to address neuromorphic and in-memory computing for next- generation AI systems. These efforts support in-memory computing applications, including pattern recognition, associative learning, and real-time signal processing, bridging the gap between biological intelligence and artificial computation. He loves cooking and playing outdoor games in his free time.

Isha Basumatary

Research Scholar

Isha is a PhD scholar in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. She completed her M.Tech in Nanotechnology from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a Junior Research Fellow on an ICMR-funded project in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, focusing on biosensor development. Her research focuses on minimally invasive microneedle-based electrochemical biosensors and animal model studies. She enjoys playing sports like badminton, carrom, and basketball, as well as gardening.

Nongthombam Joychandra Singh

Research Scholar

Joy is pursuing a PhD at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus after completing his MTech in Nanotechnology from NEHU, Shillong. His research interest focuses on 2D materials and layered materials, multimodal sensors for developing E-skin. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his friends, playing badminton, chess, carrom, gardening, and enjoys music and movies.

Shubham Yadav

Research Scholar

Shubham is a Ph.D. scholar at BITS Pilani, working on a CREST-funded project focused on 2D materials-based optoelectronic devices. He earned his degree in Nanoscience and Technology from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, in 2020. He then spent two years at the SMART Lab, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, exploring advanced research before joining BITS. His research centers on CVD-grown 2D materials, heterostructures, and photodetector fabrication to enhance photoresponsivity and broadband sensitivity for imaging, communication, and wearable technologies. Beyond research, he enjoys movies, football, badminton, and exploring good food.

Mou Sarkar

Research Scholar

Mou is pursuing her PhD at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad after completing her post graduation in electronic science from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Her research focuses on self powered sensors for energy harvesting applications using 2D material. Other than research, she enjoys good humour, singing, watching sci-fi, novels and food.

Vishnu Vardhan Koundinya

Research Scholar

Vishnu joined Phd under BITS-UB Programme at BITS, Hyderabad Campus. He completed his Undergraduation from Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai in 2024, with keen interest in research, he joined as an intern at Nano-Scale Devices Laboratory. After his Internship, he made his aim clear and he joined as a Phd candidate in the same Lab. His research area focuses on 2D material based FETs and 2D material based Moíre Patterns. Apart from acadamics, he enjoys going gym, playing badminton, good food and a deep 10 hour sleep.

Nithesh Soppari

Research Scholar

Nithesh Soppari is a PhD student at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, where he focuses on the development of neuromorphic tactile sensors—innovative devices that emulate the human sense of touch using bio-inspired engineering. With a strong academic foundation in Electronics and Nanotechnology, his work bridges the gap between material science, sensor technology, and artificial intelligence. Nithesh’s research aims to enhance the capabilities of robotic and prosthetic systems through intelligent tactile feedback mechanisms. Outside of academia, he is an avid chess player and enjoys playing cricket and soccer.

Himanshu Singh Thakur

Research Scholar

Himanshu Singh is a PhD scholar in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. He completed his BE in Electronics & Telecommunication from CSVTU, Bhilai and MTech in VLSI from Amity University, Noida. With over 2.5 years of academic experience in various engineering colleges, he is currently working as a Research Fellow on an ASM-HHV industry-sponsored project focused on developing a laser-assisted CVD process for polysilicon production. His doctoral research explores 2D materials for resistive switching and their ferroelectric properties for next-generation memory devices. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and listening to music.

Varun Darapureddy

Research Scholar

Varun is a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NMREC. He possesses strong technical expertise across various application domains and has good hands-on experience with laboratory equipment.

He joined as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the project titled “Personalized Sleep Solutions for the Elderly through Smart Mattress Sensors” in 2024, under the guidance of Dr. Parikshit Sahatiya. Later, he transitioned into the Ph.D. program .

Pritam Paul

Research Scholar

Pritam is a PhD scholar at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, working under the BITS–RMIT joint doctoral program. He completed his Master of Science in Applied Physics with a research thesis focused on nanofiber-based nonlinear optical materials. His research interests include multifunctional sensing materials, nanostructured and flexible devices, electrospinning-based fabrication, and optoelectronic characterization for personal healthcare monitoring applications. His work emphasizes the development of advanced sensors for wearable and biomedical technologies. Outside his research, he enjoys playing and watching cricket, football, badminton alongside indoor games like chess, carrom etc

Khumbar Debbarma

Research Scholar

Khumbar Debbarma completed her M.Tech in Communication Engineering in June 2025 from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala. She joined as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in January 2026 on the IIT Mandi i-Hub–sponsored project “Wellness Sense – Autonomous System for Smart Preventive Lifestyle Management”, under the supervision of Dr. Parikshit Sahatiya in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. She has six months of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Sharad Institute of Technology, Kolhapur.

Sanjana Mathew

Research Scholar

Sanjana is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, specializing in 2D materials-based plasmonic photodetectors. Her research focuses on the design, fabrication, and characterization of optoelectronic devices that leverage the unique optical and electronic properties of 2D materials for enhanced light-matter interaction. She is particularly interested in developing novel plasmonic architectures for high-sensitivity photodetection in the visible to near-infrared spectrum. Beyond her academic pursuits, Sanjana is an avid Formula 1 fan, with Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton being her favorite drivers. She also enjoys cooking, watching thriller movies, and passionately supports Chelsea Football Club.

Keerthi CJ

Research Scholar

Keerthi C.J. received the B.Tech. Degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, India, in 2018, and a master’s in optoelectronics and optical communication engineering from the Department of Optoelectronics, University of Kerala, in 2021.  I have been working toward Doctoral studies with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, Hyderabad, India, since 2022. I’m currently working on functional nanomaterials-based photodetectors and memristors. Apart from research, I like singing, cooking, and drawing.
